Publisher The Arcade Crew and developer Ishtar Games announced that their tactical roguelite RPG The Last Spell will arrive on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC via Steam on March 9th! This is big news for strategy and roguelite fans — an overwhelming majority of Steam users who played The Last Spell in early access have given it rave reviews!
The Last Spell challenges players to defend their city, the Havens, against (procedurally generated) hordes of enemies. During the day, you plan humanity’s defense by preparing your heroes, building and setting up your base, and putting your defenses in place. Then, come nightfall, waves of monsters relentlessly attack to break your defenses.
These battles play out in turn-based combat, much like 2020’s hit Crown Trick. The Last Spell promises plenty of character customization, stashes of gear and other loot, unlockable upgrades, and other RPG elements, too. I love all things strategy, RPG, and roguelites, so I might find myself battling for humanity’s future very soon!
