Mecha fans rejoice! LEVEL-5 has announced that Megaton Musashi: Wired will be released worldwide for PlayStation 5 and 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam this year. It’s an action RPG featuring customizable giant mechs that you can take into a story mode, as well as cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes!

A little history on the game: It was originally released in Japan as Megaton Musashi in November 2021 for PS4 and Switch. It continued to get many post-launch updates that added new stories, game systems, and robots (including collaboration ones!). The game was eventually converted to free-to-play just last December as Megaton Musashi X. Alas, none of this would reach English speakers… until now!

Megaton Musashi: Wired is set to include all the content that has already been released in the original version of the game. On top of that, there will be a bunch of new features added to this version.

See below for an overview of the details from the official website!

I’m sure anime mecha fans will be absolutely excited to play this game, especially with the collaboration mechs coming aboard! Almost feels like LEVEL-5 is trying to compete with Super Robot Wars!

Speaking of, I’m obligated to point out how absolutely amazing it is that English-speaking fans are getting an official release of Megaton Musashi: Wired with these crossovers included! For years, that’s assumedly what prevented Super Robot Wars from getting official releases in the US and Europe. Things are thankfully turning around now since Super Robot Wars 30 was already released officially worldwide on Steam! It’s exciting to think that the barriers preventing crossovers from leaving Japan are slowly dissipating.
