Starfield Delayed to September 6th, More Info Coming June 11th

A desert landscape on a planet in Starfield.

Bethesda has delayed Starfield yet again, announcing it will arrive on PC and Xbox Series X|S on September 6th. However, we should get more details on the game well before then since there will be a Starfield Direct on Sunday, June 11th. In the meantime, enjoy this brand-new release date trailer.

In this trailer, Bethesda Executive Producer Todd Howard makes clear that the game’s development is very far along and teases that its Direct will give us a close look at Bethesda’s “Skyrim in space.” As a big fan of most Bethesda titles, I am beyond excited for the Starfield Direct. While it’s disappointing that the game was delayed once again (and that this trailer offers little, if any, gameplay footage), the firm launch date is welcome news.

Starfield will put players into the shoes of the Constellation, the last group of space explorers. Like Skyrim, this RPG will be playable in third and first-person, and you can fully explore its universe, which Bethesda has said will comprise more than 1,000 planets! The game will offer robust character customization, crafting, and skills systems, like just about all of Bethesda’s acclaimed RPGs.
