Aksys Games recently released a quick All Aksys Update to share new info info on some upcoming games, including Mon-Yu (now with a proper localization for its absurdly long subtitle). Check the video out and scroll down for a breakdown of the reveals.

What We Learned From the All Aksys Update

Mon-Yu

Mon-Yu, the new dungeon crawler RPG from Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi developer Experience, is coming West this fall on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. It also finally has a proper subtitle. Try getting all this down: Mon-Yu: Defeat Monsters And Gain Strong Weapons And Armor. You May Be Defeated, But Don’t Give Up. Become Stronger. I Believe There Will Be A Day When The Heroes Defeat The Devil King.

There will be “chibi-fied” characters from Undernauts and the first two Spirit Hunter games. The presenter Sami noted that Mon-Yu will be a little more challenging than earlier games in Experience’s oeuvre.

Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue

The visual novel Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue will hit PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and Windows this fall. It’s up for wishlist on Steam and pre-order on the Aksys Store for $49.99 USD for you physical buyers out there. Here’s a brief synopsis of this “social thriller” game per the Steam page.

Inescapable is a social thriller set in a tropical island resort: you’ve been kidnapped and forced to participate in a twisted reality TV show with 10 strangers. At the end of your stay, you’ll receive $500,000. There’s just one catch—on the island there are no rules, and no escape. Inescapable’s story explores human nature and how far people will go for social clout, wealth, and their own desires—and how much further they might be willing to go when they have permission to ignore the rules.

GAME FEATURES:

  • Multiple narrative paths
  • A provocative character-driven story
  • A diverse cast of characters with intriguing personalities and backstories
  • Hours of voice-acted dialogue
  • A full-length original soundtrack with music from Zero Escape’s Shinji Hosoe and Matias Lehtoranta

Radiant Tale

Otome visual novel Radiant Tale has a firm release date of July 27th, and it’s coming out exclusively on Switch. Aksys says all first-run copies will come with a set of character cards; there will be more details on that “soon.” If you buy it on the online store (for $59.99 USD), you get a free soundtrack CD. It’s up for pre-order now.

Norn9: Last Era

Norn9: Last Era, originally a fan disc follow-up to Norn9: Var Commons, is coming out on August 24th on Switch. It’s getting an $89.99 USD limited edition release that will come in a box with a 25-inch x 15-inch cloth poster, a three-inch acrylic keychain, a set of 11 vinyl stickers of Hiyoko, and an art book. If you buy it online, you’ll get a 1.25-inch Norn9 pin while supplies last. There’s also going to be a standard edition for $49.99 USD. Both versions are up for pre-order now.

Jack Jeanne

We got an unboxing showcase of Jack Jeanne‘s limited edition ahead of the previously revealed June 15th launch date on Switch. Well, there are apparently different three tiers for the limited release—gold, silver, and bronze—and the highest one (gold) comes with a T-shirt and pouch. Silver nixes the shirt and bronze nixes the shirt AND pouch. Here are the full contents per the Aksys store page.

GOLD EDITION INCLUDES:

  • Oversized 7.25″ x 10.25″ hard cover art book
  • 22″ bandana/scarf with class insignias
  • Set of five (5) enamel pins with butterfly clutch back
  • 5.5″h x 3.5″ w x 2.5″ d diorama with 3 layers
  • PLUS an Exclusive convertible black pouch – 5″ x 7″ x 2″ with the Jack Jeanne Logo!
  • PLUS an exclusive 100% unisex cotton T-shirt with Kisa artwork!

And that’s that. I’m pretty curious about Mon-Yu; hopefully, we get more details and an exact release date for that one soon.

Stay tuned to RPGFan for more Aksys, Mon-Yu, and visual novel coverage!
