Action RPG Lords of the Fallen Launches in October

CI Games is bringing Lords of the Fallen, a reboot of the popular 2014 dark fantasy RPG bearing the same name, to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 13th! Pre-orders for the digital and physical editions of the game are live, as is the below brand-new gameplay trailer for this very Elden Ring–esque title.

It’d be an understatement to describe the visuals and Souls-like tone in this trailer as stunning. As a longtime fan of fantasy RPGs, this gameplay reveal just moved Lords of the Fallen to the top of my list of most-anticipated 2023 titles. The trailer also clued us in on the game’s premise: the land of Mournstead fell to the legions of a Demon God, but you, the Dark Crusader, might be able to save what remains of this brutal world.

Lords of the Fallen is the spiritual successor to the 2014 action RPG bearing the same name. In his review of the 2014 title, RPGFan’s Rob Steinman praised the game for its efforts at innovation, but he struggled to recommend the title in light of its many bugs. This reboot takes place a thousand years after the original title, and its interconnected world will be five times larger than the original’s, according to the developers.
