Developer Sword & Axe and publisher Freedom Games have announced Dark Deity 2, an aptly named sequel to the 2021 strategy RPG Dark Deity. Take control of Irving’s descendants Gwyn and Riordan and prepare to defend Verroa from the expansionist machinations of the Holy Asverellian Empire. Twenty units are at your command with 45 branching classes to evolve them into powerhouse fighters. The game promises a choice-heavy narrative and tons of customization.

An official trailer for Dark Deity 2 can be viewed below:

There is also a “Dev Feature” video discussing the game and what to expect from it in more detail:

The first Dark Deity originally appeared on PC and was later ported to the Nintendo Switch. You can read both my review of the PC port and Cory Tischbein’s review of the Nintendo Switch port. Having enjoyed the first game, the news of a sequel to the indie SRPG has definitely piqued my interest! Dark Deity 2 is available to wishlist on Steam though there’s no word yet on an official release date. Stay tuned to RPGFan for future Dark Deity 2 news!
