HoYoverse has announced with a brand-new trailer at Summer Game Fest that free-to-play turn-based gacha RPG Honkai: Star Rail will be coming out in the fourth quarter of 2023 on PlayStation 5! It’s currently available on PC via client download and the Epic Games Store, as well as iOS and Android devices. Much like its sister game Genshin Impact, the game is planned to be fully cross-save and cross-play compatible so you can switch seamlessly between your PS5, PC, and mobile devices without missing a beat!

Along with the reveal of the PS5 news, the new trailer for Honkai: Star Rail also showcases new character Luka for the first time. Luka is another twinky-looking male character who fights using mixed martial arts and uses a mechanical arm! Obviously, he asks if his opponents need a hand!

Honkai: Star Rail Summer Game Fest Trailer

I’m personally still avoiding playing Honkai: Star Rail because I don’t need another endless gacha game in my life. I played Genshin Impact for a couple of months and while I did enjoy my time with it, it did end up taking all my time so that I couldn’t work on my backlog! However, since it is getting a PS5 version, it is a little more appealing for me to try out since that’s mainly how I played Genshin as well…

Either way, it’s always a good thing for games to be accessible to more people and a PS5 version will do just that! I know a lot of people who are enjoying Honkai and I hope they continue to do so!
