Japan’s version of the Nintendo Direct revealed Stray Children, an upcoming adventure RPG for Nintendo Switch by Onion Games, a studio that houses some of the same creators behind the legendary anti-RPG Moon. Take a look at the footage below.
The game was announced for a 2024 winter release in Japan. Worry not; the studio confirmed that an English localization will be on the way, but no specific date has been set in stone yet for when it will arrive.
In the opening sequence, it’s shown that the player takes on the role of a kid who gets sucked into the TV with a gaming console and is taken to a different world that’s only full of children.
Stray Children Overview
Stray Children is a bittersweet fairytale RPG, created by many of the same people behind some of your favorite cult-classics like Chulip, Little King’s Story, Rule of Rose, Super Mario RPG, and, of course, moon, the game we re-released in English in 2021.
The story of Stray Children begins like so:
One day, a young boy is sucked into a TV set and awakens to find himself in a land made up entirely of children. So begins the boy’s adventures in this strange and dangerous wonderland.
