Playstack and developer Kumi Souls Games have announced that their upcoming gothic Metroidvania The Last Faith will be released on November 15th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The announcement came via a new gameplay trailer, depicting titanic pixellated battles within shadowed city streets and beyond. Check it out below!

The Last Faith Release Date Trailer

An extended demo for the game is now available as part of the ongoing Steam Next Fest. The demo will allow interested players to explore the city of Mythringal, giving them a taste of its combat, story and danger-laden environments.

The Last Faith focuses on protagonist Eryk as he wakes up an amnesiac of the recent past, bereft of many memories and connections. Within that gap, he uncovers that both his mind and morals are slowly deteriorating, which sets him on a pursuit to rectify and cure both afflictions, carving a bloody path through the ruined demesnes of Mythringal.

Across snow-laden mountaintops to gargantuan castles, players will engage in frenetic real-time action utilising a wide variety of firearms, weapons, and magic to defeat any enemy in their way, crossing paths “…with ancient religions and divinities…” to end Eryk’s cursed plight.

The Last Faith was originally Kickstarted in 2020 and after a limited beta test, it seems Kumi Souls Games is intent on delivering on its promise with its upcoming release, in stylish and brutal aesthetic and fashion. Personally, I’m digging the Castlevania and Souls-like vibes present within the gameplay above and am curious to see how The Last Faith differentiates itself in both its design and narrative from its inspirations.
