Developer and Publisher Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, nearly two months after launch, has sold one million units worldwide.

In celebration of this achievement, players can look forward to February 1st at 9:00 AM PT/12:00 PM ET to redeem a free set of useful in-game items on the Nintendo eShop. The download should automatically reflect in the player’s inventory. Here’s what’s included.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince – The “Mighty Meat Platter Set”

  • Manky meat x 5
  • Monster munchies x 5
  • Smoked sirloin x 5
  • Meaty treat x 3
  • Beastie bites x 2
  • Better beastie bites x 1

In case you hadn’t heard, this latest title sees the return of Psaro, Dragon Quest IV‘s silver-haired antagonist, this time in the protagonist role. There are several references to DQIV in the game, but needless to say, there’s really no requirement to play that game first before jumping into The Dark Prince. Perhaps getting through it might entice newcomers to play DQIV or other titles in the series.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is exclusively available on the Switch. The monster-collecting spin-off has received its share of praise here at RPGFan; check out Audra’s review for details.
