The highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been updated with a bespoke addition: “Dawn of a New Era in Junon”. Previously announced in Sony’s recent State of Play on February 6th, this installment follows “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim”, which gave eager players a chance to play as Cloud and Sephiroth during the Nibelheim Incident. “Dawn of a New Era in Junon” offers a change of scenery and tone, giving players more scope for exploration and interaction within the world of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
“Dawn of a New Era in Junon” is available as a free update to the existing demo and sees Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith and Red XIII emerging into the outskirts of Junon, a fortified stronghold replete with an underwater reactor. Set several hours into the main storyline, this special preview made specifically for the demo features a small piece of the massive in-game world that players can freely explore. Sniff out treasures with a trusty chocobo steed, craft valuable items with the new Item Transmuter, bravely embark on thrilling Combat Assignment missions and more.
While completing the Nibelheim section will let players skip the same sections in the full release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, doing so for the Junon portion will not provide that option as it is a unique slice specifically designed for the demo. This latest update also comes with a minor graphical patch and other adjustments.
