Star Ocean: The Second Story R Update Adds New Challenges, Art, and More

The journey into the stars continues! Square Enix recently revealed a new update for Star Ocean: The Second Story R, adding new challenges and beautiful artwork. The update, version 1.10, is available now for all platforms.

Check out an overview of the update in the trailer below:

The new update includes the following:

  • CHAOS mode, an even more challenging difficulty
  • Raid battles with The Ten Wise Men after beating the game, including new special attacks
  • Defeating the aforementioned raid battles grants you jewels to summon each one as part of the Assault Action System.
  • New weapons and accessories for after you beat the game
  • The ability to reset your level but keep items for New Game+
  • New NPC art by Yukihiro Kajimo for Regis, Allen, Eleanor Clyde and Leifath
  • A new mode view character art you have unlocked
  • An Ending Collection viewer to rewatch any of the 99 endings you have unlocked
