Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is getting released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on July 18th as Master Detective Archives: Rain Code+. It originally came out on June 30th, 2023, as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
According to a May 7th post on the game’s Twitter/X page (below), this “Plus” version will have additional features.
Courtesy of Gematsu, we also know that Master Detective Archives: Rain Code+ featured in the latest Weekly Famitsu issue. It’s apparently going to support 4K visuals, feature a gallery, and contain all the DLC we got with the Switch version’s Season Pass.
Spike Chunsoft and Too Kyo Games will let out further information on May 9th, so stay tuned to us for that.
In case you were wondering, we came down positively on Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. Our reviewer said it was a can’t-miss affair for fans of Danganronpa, the original claim to fame of Rain Code creator Kazutaka Kodaka. I strongly suspect the game appeals just as strongly to fans of Zero Escape, the mystery adventure series by Kotaro Uchikoshi, who is Kodaka’s colleague at Too Kyo.
Speaking of Uchikoshi, he teased something related to AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative on Twitter/X recently. So that’s another thing to keep an eye out for. Pun fully intended.
