Announced during Devolver Direct 2024, developer Massive Monster surprises fans with Unholy Alliance, Cult of the Lamb‘s latest update, which adds a co-op experience. The free patch adds a second playable character, the Goat, upon release on August 12th. Cult of the Lamb is widely available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, macOS, and PC via Steam, Microsoft Store, and GOG.
Players can do the full story campaign of Cult of the Lamb in local co-op. The Lamb and the Goat can swap weapons, deal more damage fighting back-to-back, and land more critical hits if the attacks are in sync.
While the update mostly focuses on multiplayer, solo lamb shepherds can also look forward to new abilities, tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, follower traits, quests, and more content to enjoy.
Here’s an excerpt of what the developers posted on the Steam page.
Summoned by blood and born in corruption, a wicked new ally can join the holy Lamb in LOCAL CO-OP! Crusade through dungeons, slay heretics, build your cult, and seek new powers together… But that’s not all!
If you find yourself alone in this vast, dark plane of existence – fear not. There is much, much more in this update for you too 😘
We will share more soon. We haven’t revealed everything just yet.
