The latest patch for FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has lowered the difficulty of certain bosses within the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, after many players reported being unable to defeat the final boss.

It’s not uncommon for bosses in Shadow of the Erdtree to attack the moment a player enters the arena. Courtesy of Eurogamer, we know that version 1.14 has changed the final boss’ pattern at the start. Additionally, FromSoftware has decreased the damage of some attacks, reduced some non-weapon attack ranges, and improved the visibility of some attack effects that get lost in the heat of battle.

The following adjustments have been made to the final boss of “SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE

  • Changed the action pattern when the battle starts.
  • Adjusted some attack moves.
  • Decreased the damage of some attacks.
  • Decreased stamina damage of some attacks.
  • Decreased the attack range of some non-weapon-based attacks.
  • Improved the visibility of some attack effects.

Other notable changes in version 1.14 include balance changes to PVP, such as weapon damage to enemy players.  Some skills have also been better balanced for PVP, while assorted changes have been made to weapons, weapon arts, spells, and incantations. There were also some bug fixes that should help the game’s stability across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

  • Decreased the damage of Backhand Blades against other players. (The Smithscript Cirque’s throwing attacks are not affected by this change)
  • Decreased the damage of Spears’ dual wield attacks against other players.
  • Decreased the damage of the Pata weapon against other players.
  • The “Spread Crossbow” weapon will no longer cause the headshot damage motion when hitting another player.

Unfortunately, there is no news on whether the Latin American translation staff, who had been removed from the credits after Shadow of Erdtree was released, have been patched back in. FromSoftware had acknowledged the issue back in July, stating that they would correct the issue in the next update.
