Halloween is coming a little early in the West, as developer WayForward has announced that Clock Tower: Rewindwill debut outside Japan on October 29th. Japanese players will have to wait until the clock strikes midnight on the 31st. The 16-bit point-and-click horror game will return for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Clock Tower: Rewind is an updated release of the 1995 Super Famicom game Clock Tower, which never received an official English translation. With Clock Tower: Rewind, players can choose between Original and Rewind Mode. The original mode is a straight-up port of the 1995 version, while the Rewind mode will have additional content from Clock Tower: First Fear (1997 PS1 port) on top of quality-of-life improvements and an updated chase system. Clock Tower: Rewind is the resurrection of the 1995 Super Famicom game, Clock Tower, officially translated and released outside of Japan for the first time. Featuring the original graphics, sound, and gameplay of the classic release, the groundbreaking title challenges players to escape the terrifying Barrows family manor, where they’ll be pursued by the relentless, murderous, shears-wielding Scissorman.
The game also includes Rewind Mode, which adds extra content and quality-of-life improvements, along with numerous extra features including a new animated intro, vocal songs by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Silent Hill series) and Emi Evans (NieR series), motion comics with voiceovers, an art gallery, save states, a rewind function, a music player, and other bonuses.
