About Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom has also released new information on its story, environments, and monsters via an extensive article on PlayStation Blog.

Players will take on the role of an unnamed protagonist who is part of the Forbidden Lands Research Commission—an organisation studying a mysterious monster known as the White Wraith. The heart of this investigation lies with a young boy named Nata, who witnessed the entity attack his people known as the Keepers. With his help, the commission investigates further into the new territory so they might rescue the Keepers and understand the true purpose of the White Wraith.

In that investigation, they will explore different biomes such as the Scarlet Forest and the previously revealed Windward Plains, which dynamically change based on the weather. In the above trailer, we see that cycle play out in the two phases of the Scarlet Forest: Inclemency and Plenty.

Inclemency brings a downpour of rain that causes the large river in the Forest to overflow, bringing out its apex predator known as Uth Duna, who uses the river as a way to destabilize and rapidly attack its prey.

Plenty is the state of the Forest after the downpour has ceased, bringing sunlit skies and clear waters. In this temporary state of calm, players can fish for supplies and research unique creatures and flora. They can also zip around the lush surroundings using their Slinger which acts as a grappling hook, accompanied by their bird-like mount known as the Seikret.

Pre-Order Details

Capcom has also confirmed that players can now pre-order the digital version of Monster Hunter Wilds from their respective storefronts.
