Threads of Time Is a Spiritual Successor to Chrono Trigger

One of the titles that caught every JRPG fan’s attention during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show presentation was Threads of Time from Canadian indie developer Riyo Games. The colorful HD-2.5D visuals and eminent influence of the time-traveling classic Chrono Trigger were hard to miss.

Although Xbox was the sole platform specified in the trailer, the developer mentioned on Reddit that they are aiming for it to be released on consoles and PC. As for which consoles other than the Xbox, Riyo Games has yet to share information.

Threads of Time is the studio’s debut title and is being developed with Unreal Engine 5.
