Game Freak is not having a good week. The Pokémon developer was recently hit with a severe hack, leaking everything from employee information, scrapped Pokémon designs, future movie/game plans and even hints about the Switch successor. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg! You could say the hack was a “critical hit.” [Editor’s Note: Damn.]
First of all, Game Freak addressed the hack, specifically to support its affected employees. Leaked employee data included 2,606 items connected to current employees, past employees, and contracted workers.
As far as game-related stuff, we learned that the Gen 10 Pokémon title is codenamed “Gaia”, and it’s being developed for “Ounce”, which stands for the Switch successor. “Gaia” could be a cross-generation title and end up on the Switch as well, though. Other game leaks include a spin-off with the codename “Synapse”, and confirmation that the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A is practically done.
Other leaks include:
- Source data for Pokémon HeartGold, Pokémon SoulSilver, Black 2 and White 2
- Detective Pikachu movie sequel details
- Another live-action Pokémon film with the internal name “Game Boy”
- Scrapped Pokémon designs, lore, design documents, and more

If you want more details, you can find the leaks all over social media for now. One would think Nintendo and Game Freak would want this all stamped out as thoroughly as possible. Stay tuned to RPGFan for everything Pokémon!
