Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars is set to deliver a full-scale remaster of the first two games in the Suikoden series, a beloved JRPG franchise that began in 1995.

Suikoden is famous for its extensive cast, known in-game as the 108 Stars of Destiny where players can recruit exactly that many characters to help them along their journey. The remasters will include redesigned HD graphics and audio, a streamlined UI, and quality-of-life features such as auto-battling.

In the first Suikoden, players will take the role of Tir McDohl, a general’s son seeking to bring the 108 Stars of Destiny together to overturn the corrupt Scarlet Moon Empire and restore peace to a war-torn land. In that pursuit, they will set up a home base for allies to mingle and rebuild.

In Suikoden II, players will take the role of Riou, the adopted son of an old hero. After a brutal battle, Riou receives one-half of a True Rune, a magical artifact of incredible power that will help him navigate a diabolical dance of politics and magic, as well as find the 108 Stars of Destiny to alter the fate of the world.
