In the midst of what suddenly feels like a busy news cycle to start the New Year (looking at you, Nintendo), European based developer and publisher Wolcen Studio (Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem), announced a new project codenamed Project Pantheon.

A free-to-play live service game, Project Pantheon, takes players into a strange afterlife, where they are tasked by Death itself to aid in restoring order to a shattered reality. Dubbed an “ExtrAction RPG” by Wolcen, players explore diverse maps and battle enemies in dynamic PvPvE isometric combat. Successful extractions will see players haul back valuable loot, while failure may result in losing their gear for good.

The game’s director, Andrei Chirculete, had this to say about the title:

“Project Pantheon delivers a unique experience by merging the fast-paced combat of ARPGs with the tension and risk-reward gameplay mechanics of extraction shooters. Project Pantheon is what would happen if Diablo and Escape From Tarkov had a baby–a fusion of different, exciting gameplays. We are eager to see how our players react!”

If Project Pantheon seems like something you could sink your boots into, check out below for more details including the first sneak peak trailer, an overview of the game via Steam, screenshots, and details on participating in the Closed Alpha test.

No release details are known as of yet, but the game is in the early alpha stage of development and Wolcen Studio aims to give players a voice in driving essential game updates to help shape the world’s future as development progresses.

Death Welcomes All

Set in a post-apocalyptic, grounded dark fantasy world, this new mixture of Extraction and Action RPG games challenges players to restore balance to shattered realms where fantastical reimaginings of historical mythologies lie in ruin.

Recruited by Death, you’ll prepare at your hidden fortress to venture into diverse maps to complete objectives, battle players and foes and secure loot that can be traded with others later.

Battle Through Myth and Chaos

Immerse yourself in captivating worlds that keep you returning for more. Explore challenging maps, tackle quests, and loot unique gear. Enjoy balanced PvP and PvE with fair rules and strong anti-cheat measures. Easy to learn, challenging to master, and endlessly rewarding.

High Stakes, Big Rewards

Starting at your hidden fortress, you will be able to upgrade your base, customize load-outs, and gear up for battle. Choose from maps with unique objectives and treasures, but the stakes are high—death means losing everything. Only successful extractions secure rewards, which can be traded with other players.

Your Voice, Our Mission

Built by, for and with gamers in mind, we’re committed to community-driven development and actively listening to feedback. Closed Alpha testers will play a crucial role in refining the game and shaping its future.

Contributing to the news team is his main objective at the site and it is his goal to project the confidence of Ron Burgundy while keeping everyone from realizing he might just be Brick Tamland.
