Digital Sun and publisher 11 bit studios have released a new trailer for their upcoming shopkeeping sequel Moonligher 2: The Endless Vault. It showcases some of the biomes players might explore, treasures they might encounter, and enemies they will have to best. The trailer was shown at the latest ID@Xbox showcase, as part of this year’s IGN Fan Fest. Check it out below!
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault “A New Journey Unfolds” Trailer
Players take on the role of Will, a young shopkeeper thrust into an alternate dimension far from home. In that dimension, he must uncover the mysteries of the world around him and uplift the village of Tresna from ruin. To accomplish this, players will embark into rogue-lite randomised isometric dungeons at night to gain salvage and treasure in real-time battles.
With treasure secured, players will wake up and sell the treasure in a makeshift shop during the day, negotiating with the denizens of Tresna for as much profit as possible. With that profit, Will and his companions can work to the betterment of Tresna, redeveloping it into a veritable bastion of commerce, community, and civilisation.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Screenshots
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault was announced in late 2024. It is a sequel to 2018’s Moonlighter, a pixellated action RPG with rogue-lite elements and its familiar gameplay loop of treasure-hunting and salvage-selling remains intact. It was one of my favourite games of that year, a rarity of a title that focuses deeply on economics whilst maintaining a stylish verve in its combat and story. I’m deeply excited to see whereits sequel takes us.
Moonlighter2: The Endless Vault will be released sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
