Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition Revealed as Switch 2 Launch Title

Characters make the most of a rare moment to admire the skyline in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Nintendo is headed to Night City on day one, thanks to CD Projekt Red continuing to make waves during major gaming showcases. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be part of the Nintendo Switch 2’s lineup on launch day, June 5th.

While there are sure to be some tongue-in-cheek comments about the original Switch’s performance and Cyberpunk‘s initial release, this is a partnership that makes a lot of sense. By making Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition a Switch 2 launch title, CD Projekt Red gets to cap off a resuscitation project for the ages while tapping into a new market that has yet to experience the mean streets of Night City. Specifically, Switch 2 users will benefit from the Ultimate Edition containing the base game (including the version 2.0 quality of life upgrades for character-building and combat) as well as the acclaimed expansion Phantom Liberty.

For its part, Nintendo gets a chance to showcase a modern cinematic sandbox and prove that the Switch 2 is indeed miles away from its predecessor from day one. (Imagine someone trying to play Cyberpunk on the original Switch…)
