As part of Star Wars Celebration 2025, Lucasfilm Games, alongside EA’s Respawn and Bit Reactor, has revealed Star Wars Zero Company. The upcoming title, set to release sometime in 2026, is a turn-based tactics game set during the Clone Wars era.
Star Wars Zero Company Official Announce Trailer
Sadly, the reveal trailer features little in the way of gameplay (but see the screenshots below for that!), so there’s not much to go off so far. That said, Bit Reactor is made up of staff that previously worked at Firaxis Games, the studio behind the XCOM series, which gives me confidence that the title is in safe hands. Below are some comments about Star Wars Zero Company from Bit Reactor and Lucasfilm Games:
“Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay design pillars that weave in the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics gameplay,” said Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor. “It’s our aim to deliver a game with an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era that has meaningful outcomes from player choices, and deep turn-based tactical combat with an approachable and cinematic presentation.”
“At Lucasfilm Games, we’re huge tactics fans and we have wanted to make a game like this for a long time,” said Douglas Reilly, GM & VP, Lucasfilm Games. “The best tactics games are all about meaningful choices, and we’re confident we have chosen the right squad in Bit Reactor to deliver a compelling and innovative title that is authentic to Star Wars.
Following the footage, the studio went on to reveal a little more about the game. Players can expect not only a tactics-based campaign, but also the ability to develop a base of operations and customise their squad in between operations. Creating bonds between squadmates will unlock a variety of combat synergies. Unit-wise, we can expect to see good class variety, with Bit Reactor already confirming that Clone Trooper, Astromechs, and Jedi will all feature in the game.

As a Star Wars nerd and fan of the strategy genre, this is a bit of a dream come true for me! Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi series has been fantastic so far, and I hope Zero Company delivers on a similar level.
Star Wars Zero Company is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC sometime in 2026. For future updates on this upcoming title, as well as everything else RPG-related, make sure to keep an eye on RPGFan’s news feed.
