Now is truly a golden age for Trails fans, especially for those in the west! The localization timeline for the series has sped up compared to the early days, though a newbie might be overwhelmed by the amount of titles available at this point. Luckily, the first title in the Trails series is getting a remake for modern platforms and is now up for pre-order!
For North America, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will be available in standard and limited editions. The standard version ($59.99 USD) can be pre-ordered through most major retailers, such as Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy. The limited edition isn’t available to pre-order yet, but it will be offered by Limited Run Games. As for Europe, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will be available through publisher Clear River Games for €59.99 EUR, but details aren’t available yet.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter builds the original game from the ground up, including through a new translation (in English, German, French, and Spanish) intended to be more authentic to the Japanese version. The game will also feature both Japanese and English dubs. Fans of the original Trails in the Sky will be pleased to hear several returning voices, as we reported previously.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter launches for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Steam in fall 2025. While retailers have a placeholder date of September 25th, an official release date has yet to be confirmed.
