Mundfish has unveiled Atomic Heart II, an open-world action RPG sequel set within a retro-futuristic timeline where robots, mutants, and chaos hold sway. The reveal came via Summer Game Fest 2025, by way of a bombastic announcement trailer set to “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. Check it out below!
Atomic Heart II – Announcement Trailer
Though narrative details are scant, Mudfish has confirmed that Atomic Heart II will be a globetrotting adventure that focuses on player choice in its narrative and gameplay across a living world. The original Atomic Heart was primarily a first-person shooter with semi-open playspaces for players to explore, across an alternate timeline Soviet Union overrun by robots. It seems as if what Mundfish is promising is a natural evolution of what was previously established within the franchise.
Robert Bagratuni, founder and CEO of Mundfish, shared a deep appreciation for the ten million players of Atomic Heart:
Ever since the launch of the original Atomic Heart, we’ve been floored by the unwavering support and enthusiasm of our playerbase. When we set out to create the Atomic Universe, we never imagined that the community would respond with such amazing passion.
It’s been hard sitting on this announcement for so long, but today, at Summer Game Fest, we’re incredibly happy to finally and officially announce that Atomic Heart 2 is coming, and it’s bigger and bolder than the original.
