The trailer was shown at the Day of the Devs 2025 presentation, giving players a general guide as to what they might expect in the world of Tresna. Check it out below!
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault (Day of the Devs)
Narrated by Digital Sun’s marketing manager Israel Mallén, the above trailer focuses on the role of Will, the original game’s protagonist, who has been transported to a new world known as Tresna where he will undertake the duality of his previous life — that of a shopkeeper by day and an adventurer by night. For players, this means a fusion of isometric action-RPG combat in risky, ever-changing dungeons to find treasure. If successfully taken from the dungeon, such loot can eventually be sold for a profit to the inhabitants of Tresna using the ancient laws of supply and demand.
Key differences from its predecessor include a complete shift from a pixel-art to 3D perspective, as well as new gameplay mechanics including backpack upgrades to increase item resale prices and character upgrades with relics.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Screenshots
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault was originally announced in late 2024, with seven years between it and its predecessor. I have a deep fondness for Moonlighter, it being my third favourite game of 2018. I’m deeply keen to see what its sequel has in store when it releases later this year, and I imagine I’m not alone in that! What a fantastic year for indie releases, right?
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is set to launch during summer 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
