Aniimo Announced at Xbox Showcase 2025

Some of the cute creatures you will catch in Aniimo

Pokémon clones are a dime a dozen these days, but Aniimo is looking to shake things up. Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, this free-to-play monster-catching game has the usual fixings of the genre: collecting magical creatures and watching them grow stronger and evolve. However, with the “Twining” feature, you can instantly become your creature to unlock an assortment of skills and abilities depending on which one you choose.

Check out the announcement trailer shown at the Xbox Games Showcase:

While the game is set to launch in 2026, sign-ups are open for a closed beta launching this summer. The website also features five of the adorable creatures’ profiles, which detail their habitats, combat prowess, and abilities.

Jovi Zhang, executive producer at Pawprint Studio, had this to say about creating Aniimo:

Like every other player, the Aniimo team has always believed that one day, there will be a game that exists that makes all our dreams come true. Instead of waiting any longer, we created it ourselves.

Chris Petrovic, chief business officer and chairman of the board at Funplus, behind publishing label Kingsglory, added:

Aniimo will shake up the creature-collecting genre and introduce players to an expansive and beautiful open world that the dev team is looking forward to growing with them, based on feedback from the first closed beta test.
