Square Enix has announced The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, an action RPG coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store in 2026.
As you might have already surmised, this new game comes to us from the creators of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. That HD-2D aesthetic is unmistakable.
A demo is expected to be available today, July 31st, on the eShop. Before that, check out the premiere trailer shown at the latest Nintendo Direct.
Here’s a quick summary of the trailer. There’s more in there, but these are the pertinent details.
The game is set in the continent of Philabieldia, which is infested with monsters. The one safe place for humans is the Kingdom of Huther, which is protected by a Spell of Safekeeping.
A mysterious mural is discovered in the wilds. Elliot, the titular adventurer, will venture out to investigate alongside the fairy Faie.
There are seven weapon types, including swords, bows, and chains and sickles. Elliot can pick up and lob bombs at enemies.
Faie can attack and pick up items. Elliot and Faie can be controlled separately, or at the same time via a two-player mode.
