Falcom and publisher refint/games have announced that Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga will launch on October 10th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
According to refint, a limited physical version with be released by Limited Run Games.

Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga – Release Date Trailer
Originally released in 2010 for the PlayStation Portable in Japan, Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga brings the characters of the Ys and Trails in the Sky series, including fan favourites such as Adol Christin and Estelle Bright, into an isometric arena-based fighting game for up to four players.

As someone who has a cursory interest in both franchises, it’s wonderful to see a long-awaited title force both franchises out of their expected JRPG framework. It reminds me a little of the Persona 4 Arena spin-offs, where fan favourites duel it out in flashy setups for the fate of the world. I hope Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga provides entertainment for both fighting game and JRPG fans alike, come early October.
