Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection – Release Date Trailer | TGS 2025 Extended Cut
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection puts players in the role of a royal heir to the country of Azuria, blessed with both innate power and the bond to a sky-soaring Rathalos. The player character joins an organisation known as the Rangers, who seek to protect both endangered monsters and the environments that sustain them.
During those duties, environmental warping is found alongside the threat of civil war against Azuria from its neighbouring kingdom of Vermeil—a conflict that raged 200 years prior. In the flames of that resurging war, he meets Eleanor, the heir and princess to Vermeil, and they embark on a journey beyond their two kingdoms into forbidden lands and work together to find hope for a better future.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection has players befriending different monsters (“Monsties”) to explore large-scale open areas across Azuria, Vermeil, and beyond. Depending on the Monstie equipped, players will be able to use “Riding Actions” to fly, wall-climb, and more across the world, accessing new areas and resources.
Monsties can also score preemptive attacks against enemies, initiating turn-based battles in their favour. During battle, players will try to attain victory, juggling different attacks to maximise damage via a rock-paper-scissors weakness system. Like its parent series, players can attempt to break off parts by fully depleting durability gauges to deny enemies’ actions or acquire resources.
