Capcom has announced that the free Title Update 3 for Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on September 29th.
The update centres on a large-scale collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV, bringing fan-favourite boss Omega Planetes to the world of Wilds. It will also introduce the Dark Knight and the Pictomancer jobs from FFXIV. Beyond these major additions, the update will include new themed weapons, armour, cosmetics, and more.
A new trailer was released in conjunction with Capcom’s official broadcast at Tokyo Game Show, showcasing Omega’s wrath and the new jobs in furious action. Check it out below!
Monster Hunter Wilds – Free Title Update 3: Final Fantasy XIV Special Collaboration
As seen above, players who choose to play as either Dark Knight or Pictomancer will be able to use FFXIV-specific abilities to turn the tide of battle. Players who wish to unlock the jobs will have to equip specific items and armour sets, as detailed below:
The crossover also includes two jobs from FINAL FANTASY XIV to help defend the Forbidden Lands: the Dark Knight and Pictomancer. The Dark Knight harnesses the power of darkness to unleash devastating techniques using a two-handed sword, while Pictomancers bring artistic creations to life to defeat foes. Hunters can take on the role of a Dark Knight by equipping the Bale Armor α and activating the “Soul of the Dark Knight” series skill to unlock “The Blackest Night” ability. Additionally, players can equip the “Shadowbringer” Great Sword to unlock an exclusive weapon skill. Lastly, the “Soul of the Pictomancer” item enables hunters to cast pictomancy spells such as Pom Motif from their item pouch. Hunters can also look forward to new Palico and Seikret gear as well as new cosmetic rewards like a pendant and gesture.
Additionally, players can look forward to a new seasonal event, the Festival of Accord: Dreamspell, that will run from October 22nd to November 12th. The event brings the opportunity to fight an Arch-tempered Nu Udra, with exclusive crafting materials to gain by defeating it.
Finally, Title Update 4 has been confirmed for December, bringing the elder dragon Gogmazios to Monster Hunter Wilds. For more details on what that entails, check out below:
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 also introduces Arch-tempered Nu Udra as a permanent Event Quest with exclusive materials for crafting equipment. Title Update 3 features new quests offering rarity 8 Artian materials, a limited-time Seregios Challenge Quest, and an Arch-tempered Nu Udra Free Challenge Quest. Additionally, the update includes four nostalgic gestures as free DLC, alongside the release of Cosmetic DLC Pack 3 and other paid DLC.
Looking ahead, hunters can participate in the Festival of Accord: Dreamspell this fall. The Grand Hub will be taken over with delightfully eerie decorations and feature new Event Quests and in-game rewards. Title Update 4 arrives in December and will bring the fearsome Gogmazios to the Forbidden Lands alongside additional end-game content.

Phew! It seems that Monster Hunter Wilds seems to be trucking along with new content coming out at a reasonably rapid clip. For fans, I imagine Omega will prove an enjoyable opponent to square up against, with art or darkness as your weapon.
