As briefly seen in the trailer above, Infinity was originally developed between 1999 and 2001 by Allinix Software for the GBC but was formally cancelled in 2002 due to the hardware being at the end of its lifecycle. An unfinished ROM of Infinity was released onto the internet in 2016, sparking a chain of events leading to a successful Kickstarter in 2021, headed by publisher and developer Incube8 Games.

Infinity frames itself in a classic JRPG fashion, focusing on two great nations on the verge of cataclysmic war. Connor, a disgraced Seleran knight, seeks to overcome and stop this looming conflict alongside grief, mortal danger, and more. He will journey with four others across the world, facing intrigue and peril in turn-based tactical fights across 15 hours of total gameplay. As someone who grew up during this era of portable gaming, it warms my heart to see Infinity slowly rise from its cooled ashes and provide both assumed closure for its team and a chance for players old and new to experience it in this modern age.

Infinity is expected to release on December 22nd for GBC. A Steam and Nintendo Switch version were confirmed and met as stretch goals as part of the Kickstarter, though no word on their release date has been given as of yet.
