Back to the Dawn, a pixel-art prison escape, survival RPG, will make its way to Nintendo consoles early next year, on March 5th, 2026, and PlayStation 5 on an unspecified date.
The game was released for PC and Xbox systems in July of this year. As far as RPGs go, it features a unique and intriguing premise. Players assume the role of one of two anthropomorphic animal protagonists. Thomas is a framed journalist fox, and Bob is an undercover agent panther. A trailer for the game can be viewed below.
The game features excellent pixel sprite work and boasts a story full of mystery and intrigue with multiple paths and endings. Judging from the overwhelmingly positive Steam reviews (95% at time of writing), this is a game that fans of RPGs, adventure games, and crime thrillers should have on their radar. Alongside new platforms, Back to the Dawn will also be receiving localization updates for Switch, Switch 2, and PS5, in the form of “enhanced” subtitles, and brand-new voice acting in Japanese and Chinese.
Standard editions are planned for both Switch consoles in Japan and Asia. In addition, there will be a Limited Edition available for Switch 2. This edition will include:
