Divinity – Cinematic Announcement Trailer

The title was previously advertised by a mysterious statue towering in the Californian desert, its presence and meaning guessed by various industry sleuths, with the first being site MP1st.

In a press release, Sven Vincke, founder and game director of Larian Studios, has promised that Divinity is the game they’ve “always wanted to make”, promising “loads of fun”. Here’s the full statement:ย

Despite our long history with the series, this is our first game entitled โ€˜Divinity.โ€™ Weโ€™re ready to bring everything weโ€™ve done previously into one place. This marks the beginning of something with more breadth, depth, and intimacy than anything weโ€™ve created before. Weโ€™ve been building toward this moment ever since we took our fate into our own hands.

The last entry in the Divinity series was the 2017-released Divinity: Original Sin II, with Larian following it with the highly acclaimed Baldur’s Gate III in 2023. Both are isometric turn-based RPGs with deeply interwoven systems of party-based combat, environmental interaction, and interpersonal narrative choice.
