Trails Beyond the Horizon Drops Story Recap Trailer Ahead of Worldwide Release

The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon protagonist Rean Schwarzer.

The latest installment in Nihon Falcom’s Trails series, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon, is set to release internationally on January 15th. This sequel to 2022’s Trails Through Daybreak II was released in Japan last September.

In anticipation of the worldwide release, publisher NIS America has released a story recap trailer, available to watch below.

New Heights for the Series

Trails Beyond the Horizon is the 13th installment in the Trails series and the third in the current Calvard Arc that began with Trails Through Daybreak. The game follows a familiar cast of characters, including Van Arkride, Rean Schwarzer, and Father Kevin Graham. These heroes become involved in a high-stakes adventure surrounding the continent of Zumeria and humanity’s impending first expedition into space.

One feature that will excite longtime fans of the series is the inclusion of characters from across multiple story arcs. It looks like Falcom is preparing for the eventual endgame of the series by resolving or connecting major plot points throughout the massive series. Fans of the Daybreak games can expect a similar blend of action and turn-based combat, along with the long-term storytelling the series is famous for.

Full details of all the game’s features can be found on the official website.
