During this morning’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, we got our first look in a while at The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, showcasing the different time periods, and specifically how the same areas look at each point in time. As a major Chrono Trigger and Zelda fan, it finally dawned on me how much this game was made for me. The new trailer, below, details more about the game and these different ages and reveals its June 18th release date. Every new HD-2D game from this team just looks better than the last, and I look forward to seeing how they do with a real-time combat adventure RPG.
If you played the demo version last year, you’ll be glad to know the devs have taken player feedback into account, boosting Elliot’s movement speed, adding more difficulty options, and refining weapon shortcut menus. Honestly, why isn’t this system of public demo, survey, and feedback used more? It’s always welcome when they do it for the Octopath Traveler games, too.
Along with this fresh look, Square Enix also revealed more about the release (including a date, of course): Pre-orders will net players the “Elliot’s Departure Pack,” full of helpful items like the Departure Brooch that boosts money and magicite fragment drops. A Digital Deluxe Edition will include additional accessories—Fairy Bangle, Cherry Blossom Anklet, and Roselle Ring—though besides their literally flowery names, I can’t tell you what they do. Finally, the biggest (physically) news here is the physical Collector’s Edition that includes a soundtrack and desk clock statue:
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Collector’s Edition is exclusively available to pre-order through the Square Enix Store for $229.99 USD. For those who prefer a digital game, the soundtrack and clock are also available separately for $160.00. The standard edition is $59.99.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is available for pre-order now in digital form on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Microsoft Store. You can also pre-order the Switch 2 physical edition now, with Switch 2 digital pre-orders coming soon. You can find links to pre-order on all available platforms on the game’s official website.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales launches on June 18th, 2026, and you can be sure we’ll share more about the game as we learn it until that time!
