Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Soars on September 17th

Nihon Falcom and GungHo Online Entertainment have announced that Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will release globally on September 17th for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, and PC via Steam.

A trailer accompanied the announcement, showcasing a brief look at the continuing adventures of Estelle Bright in the land of Liberl. As a slight warning, the trailer does contain mild spoilers for the conclusion of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. Check it out below!

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Release Date Trailer

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will release in both physical and digital editions for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, with pre-orders for the standard edition now available. Additionally, Falcom has announced a Japan-exclusive edition for pre-order known as the Ouroboros Box, retailing for ¥13,860. It contains several bonuses, both digital and physical, as listed below:

  • A copy of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter
  • A commemorative album (Trails in the Sky Memorial Sound Collection)
  • “Fluffy Sheep Mascot Set” DLC
  • A Blu-Ray of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky THE ANIMATION with full subtitle support in English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese
  • A character lore book detailing every citizen in the Liberl Kingdom in Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter and Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter

Players who pre-order in Japan for consoles will also receive the original Trails in the Sky HD remaster, released in 2014.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter brings Estelle Bright to the forefront as she seeks to understand the machinations of the sinister Ouroboros society. In that pursuit, she will travel across the continent of Zemuria alongside her friends, seeking answers as the world around her shifts across its geopolitical borders. By carrying over your clear data from 1st Chapter, you can obtain exciting bonus items that will let you progress through the story more smoothly.

Overpower your enemies with new Crafts and S-Crafts! Link your characters’ attacks during Quick Battles with the new Brave Rush, and make full use of the orbment system for access to Arts.

It’s awesome to see the opening act of the Trails series slowly be remade from its humble origins in the early 2000s. With all the bells and whistles that modern development can provide, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is shaping up to be the definitive version of its story. At the least, it will be deeply entertaining upon its release in mid-September!
