It’s that time of the year again! Time for some summer time fun in the sun! But sometimes summer isn’t just about having fun; sometimes, summer is about that first summer job you had in order to pay for those video games of yesteryear. But work sucks, I know, and no one wants to work when we can just play video games all day! So why not come join us for this year’s summer marathon on Twitch where we play RPGs with job systems all summer long? It’s RPGFan’s Summer Job System Fair! Experience the joys of characters having cool jobs with none of the actual work! This year’s marathon starts today, Friday, May 22nd at 1:00 pm PT / 4:00 pm ET.
The full list of confirmed and potential marathon games and weekly schedule are below, and all this excitement will happen on our Twitch channel. But first, we have some exciting prize news! Once again, we have partnered with our good friends over at Pin Box. Thanks to Pin Box, we will have weekly giveaways each Saturday, in the form of a £25 gift card to their store (starting May 30th) throughout the marathon, where you can find some incredible licensed merchandise from some of your favorite RPG franchises, including Trails, Ys, Shin Megami Tensei, and more!
To enter the giveaway each week, all you need to do is hang out and lurk on the stream to acquire points that you can spend every Saturday for a chance to win that week’s giveaway. But there are more ways to enter, too!
Here’s how entering will work:
- Everyone watching will passively earn points even if you’re just lurking.
- You can earn more points by spinning the Wheel of Employment. If you are feeling lucky and land on certain spots, you can receive additional points to spend on giveaways. There will be other additions as well on the wheel.
- The Wheel of Employment will also randomly change the jobs of the current characters I am using in game as well as force certain debuffs on me like quiet quitting, getting fired, new employment, moonlighting, and much more. All of these are designed to make it harder for me to beat the current game, and when I do game over, everyone in chat will get points as well.
- Triple points will be given out on the first weekend, and every Friday for the rest of marathon. So you can rack up more points on certain days!
- Please note that like last year, you can win a maximum of two times all summer long, but not in consecutive weeks.
- You can also save your points each week to have more chances the following week, or even save them all for a bigger chance later on. But remember, others can do the same!
- Prize winners will only need to submit their name and email address (privately) to claim their gift card code. These emails will not be used for any other reason except to send you prize, and will not be shared with anyone outside of RPGFan or Pin Box.

Editor’s Note: You can see a peek of it in the image above, but I wanted to ensure you saw the full “splash screen” that resident artist and social media manager Steph Sybydlo created for this year’s marathon! She comes up with the visuals for the stream and marathon logos every year, but I think she really knocked it out of the park with this year’s bulletin board design! Enjoy it, and we hope to see you on our Twitch channel this summer! – Mike Salbato
