Riyo Games has released a new trailer for their upcoming time-travel RPG Threads of Time during the Day of the Devs 2026 presentation. It showcases co-founders Robbie Lennon and Nick Knight giving a brief overview of Threads of Time alongside their legacy as both developers and longtime friends, juxtaposed against the gorgeous pixel visuals of the game itself. As seen above, Threads of Time will have players taking on the role of a time-hopping party across both the past and future, as they seek to change and understand their fate in their respective eras and beyond. Riyo Games promises turn-based combat in that journey, utilising time-themed attacks and abilities that will change the flow of turn order and timing in battle. Beyond its legacy as a dream between childhood friends, it’s clearly evident that Riyo Games has and is gathering top-tier talent together for its production on Threads of Time. My only personal gripe is wanting more information on the specifics (such as the people alluded to in the trailer who have worked on the likes of Shovel Knight, Final Fantasy, and Xenoblade Chronicles), since every frame of footage looks like something you might hang up on a wall. Here’s hoping for new information soon, and we here at RPGFan will be sure to cover it!
Threads of Time will launch for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. No release date has been confirmed at this time.
