Square Enix has announced that Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is now available for Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement came during the latest Nintendo Direct, alongside a short trailer showcasing a sizzle reel of gameplay, laced with snippets of Zack Fair’s stirring story. Check it out below!

Players can purchase it via the Nintendo eShop for $49.99 (USD), with a 30% launch discount ($34.99 USD) applied until September 24th, 2026. There is no upgrade path between the Nintendo Switch 1 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions, and save data is also incompatible between the two versions.
The remaster was originally released in December 2022 and improves several key features of the original Crisis Core (2007) while leaving its story untouched. It sports full HD remastered graphics with redone character models and backgrounds, a rebalanced battle system, full voice-over options in both Japanese and English, and a newly arranged soundtrack from composer Takeharu Ishimoto. On a personal note, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was a foundational game for me in regard to gaming as a keystone hobby, so I’m glad that more players will be able to experience the entirety of Zack Fair’s storyworldwide.
