Guardian Heroes is a 2D side-scrolling action RPG. Most of the gameplay is combat in the style of a beat-em-up, with players gaining experience at the end of each stage (called “Scenes”) which allows them to improve their statistics. The game supports up to 8 players simultaneously and features a branching plot with multiple endings.
Originally known simply as Ultima, this was the first entry in the long-running franchise of the same name, conceived of by Richard Garriott, and developed by Origin Systems.
