Happy new year! Welcome back to Coming This Week with RPGFan. We took a brief hiatus last week, since… well, let’s be frank, it was the holidays and nothing was really coming out anyway. It’s still a pretty slow week regardless, but there is at least one major release headed to PCs! Let’s jump in.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne – January 8th (Windows)
Come one, come all, to Hoarfrost Reach! Monster hunters the world over got to journey into the frozen wastes in search of prey and bounty last year on consoles, and now it’s PC players’ turn to get in on the action in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. There are a whole bunch of exciting features and add-ons to the base game in this meaty expansion. Check out Random Encounter host Greg Delmage’s review if you’d like to know more!
Mythic Ocean – January 9th (Windows)
January seems like the perfect opportunity to go on a mythical aquatic adventure, and Mythic Ocean will be delivering that on Thursday. Use graphic novel style tactics to shape the course of the Mythic Ocean and determine which mythical figure will create the new world. The gameplay looks like an exploration game/visual novel crossover, and the environments look gorgeous, so dive on in! There’s even a breakdancing crab. Go play the demo to check it out for yourself.
…and that’s all, folks! 2020 is off to a slow start in the realm of gaming (real life, unfortunately, is happening way too fast to compensate). Still, keep an eye out for more RPG coverage from your favorite gaming fansite, rpgfan.com! Catch you next time.
