Check Out The First Official Media from Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Expansion Pass

This morning, Nintendo announced an expansion pass for last year’s wildly successful mainline Pokémon titles, Pokémon Sword and Shield. You can check out our previous coverage to learn more about the expansion pass, but for now, let’s look at some new media released by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company!

First up, The Isle of Armor:

The Isle of Armor sees players whisked away to the titular island, training in a dojo and assisting a brand-new Pokémon: Kubfu, who evolves into Urshifu. New friends and rivals will be encountered along the way, depending on which version of the game you own.

Galarian Slowpoke is also being added to the base game via a free update. It will be able to evolve into Galarian Slowbro in The Isle of Armor, and Galarian Slowking in The Crown Tundra.

Speaking of The Crown Tundra…

Players will explore a frozen wasteland, and encounter a new Legendary Pokémon: the Grass/Psychic Calyrex!

In addition to over 200 Pokémon being added (including Galarian forms of Moltrez, Zapdos, and Articuno, as well as G-Max Venusaur and Blastoise!), each of the main starter evolutions will be getting a Gigantamax form. Check out the first batch of screenshots below!
