Oh, how things could have been. Recently, Soraya Saga, writer for Xenogears, Xenosaga Episode I, Soma Bringer, and more, as well as being a guest character designer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, revealed a concept via Twitter for a game she wrote that never came to fruition.
Written 20 years ago, the game focused on artificial humanity connected via a network, planetary exploration, and mutiny. One of the key concepts of the game was a network infection causing humanity to disconnect. The current pandemic crisis and the isolation quarantines cause reminded Soraya Saga of this project.
Soraya Saga did not provide any further details on the game, but she did showcase various character designs in her signature style. The game could be related to the project “Titus 12”, which was a draft proposal she wrote for Monolith Soft around 2000 to 2004, but she did not confirm this.
Personally, I would love to see another project from Soraya Saga. It’s a shame to see such an interesting concept not realized.
