Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has been one of RPGFan’s most anticipated titles for a long time now, and we’re incredibly excited that it has finally launched for the Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam. Coming to us from developer Edelweiss and publishers Marvelous and XSEED Games, Sakuna is a charming mix of simulation and action-RPG with a wonderful aesthetic sensibility.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has been in development for over 5 years, and we couldn’t have done it without our partners at XSEED Games and Marvelous, Inc. supporting our artistic vision,” says the game director Nal and CG Artist Koichi from Edelweiss in a joint statement. “We’re grateful for the positive support we’ve received from media and fans and hope that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin meets their expectations.” You can read more from the developers by reading the blog posts XSEED has uploaded to their official website.

Check out the launch trailer for the game below! Be sure to read our review if you haven’t already, as well.

Editor’s Note: In the spirit of full disclosure, former RPGFan staffer Derek Heemsbergen contributed to the localization of this game. This did not affect our coverage of the title whatsoever, but we wanted to draw attention to it, because Derek is a rad dude.
