Vanillaware’s visual novel, tower defense, RPG mashup, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, has sold 400,000 units worldwide according to Atlus. This mecha game was one of last year’s biggest surprises due to its well-executed asynchronous mystery narrative and beautiful hand-drawn art.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim’s writing was so good that the game took home our Best Graphic Adventure or Visual Novel of 2020 award. If mecha, tower defense, or a riveting mystery story sound like your jam, you should pick up a copy of 13 Sentinels and add to that 400,000 figure.
