Retro Encounter 280 – Muramasa: The Demon Blade Part II

Retro Encounter 280 Muramasa The Demon Blade

Two Retro Encounter panelists played through four Muramasa: The Demon Blade endings and still can’t stop gushing over the 2D action RPG’s gorgeous backgrounds. But those backdrops aren’t the only shiny things in Vanillaware’s theatrical tour de force – there’s also the lusciously animated food, the Hitoshi Sakimoto soundtrack, and our smiling faces.

Great podcast, but one thing you discussed that I want to correct: you keep referring to the OST of the game as being by Hitoshi Sakimoto, but he only did 6 tracks. The vast majority of the soundtrack was done by the other members of Basiscape at the time (Yoshimi Kudo, Azusa Chiba, Noriyuki Kamikura, Mitsuhiro Kaneda, Kimihiro Abe, and Masaharu Iwata), and I just wanted to give them some more credit because they are fantastic.
