Celebrate Final Fantasy XIV’s 8th Anniversary With a Beautiful Cake

Final Fantssy XIV cake featuring Spriggans, Cactuars, Chocobos, and a moogle.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is celebrating a rather tasty 8-year anniversary! Square Enix joined up with former Great British Bake Off star Kim-Joy to put together an amazing cake to mark the anniverasry of 2.0, A Realm Reborn, being launched.

Go ahead and watch Kim-Joy put together the delicious cake in the video below:

This three-tiered cake is a lemon sponge base coated with buttercream. And of course you can find a plethora of Final Fantasy XIV references on the cake too, including:

• Cactuars, Sabotenders and Gigantenders – Spiky creature-shaped gingerbread cookies and decorated with royal icing, placed on a sandy desert backdrop made from biscuit.
• Fat Chocobos – These chubby yellow birds are made from tangzhong bread, sitting on a watercolor blue and white backdrop representing the sky.
• Spriggans – The Copperbell Mines residents are mochi here, and filled with a thick custard, these creatures are clutching their precious gems made from kohakutou-style jelly.
• The cake is topped with a fondant-covered Moogle.

The celebration doesn’t stop at dessert, either! The in-game event, The Rising, is back once again and lasts until September 9th. Participating in the event rewards you with a Red Moon Parasol, Nymeia Potpurri, and the chance to journey to Steps of Nald to assist Kipih Jakkya in a quest.
