Preorders Open for Newly Titled Winter’s Wish: Spirits of Edo and More Otome Games

A tender scene in Winter's Wish: Spirits of Edo, one of several RPGs coming this week

Aksys Games has announced that Winter’s Wish: Spirits of Edo is the official English title for the Idea Factory otome game Kimi wa Yukima ni Koinegau. It’s slated to launch for Nintendo Switch in 2023, but preorders have already gone up for the limited and standard editions over at Aksys’ online store. The former is available exclusively on the website while supplies last, and will come with a special soundtrack CD. If you’d like to direct your gaze at the bewitchingly beautiful boys that you can romance in Winter’s Wish, here’s the trailer.

Winter’s Wish is set in 18th century Japan, and you play as a girl with supernatural insight into the future. Read the synopsis below.

The first year of the Kyoho era. The land is ruled by the eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune. Repeated incidents caused by monsters in the town of Edo upset and frighten the people so the Tokugawa shogunate establishes the “Oniwaban” to maintain public order and secure the town. Seasons pass—to year 11 of the Kyoho era. A girl in a village far from Edo has the power to see a “black thread” before every catastrophe and the panicked villagers drove her away into the snowy mountains. One day, two young men from the Oniwaban, appear before her. This is a story in which a girl encounters “non-humans,” and learns about love.

It’s Not Just Winter’s Wish—You Can Preorder Lover Pretend and Paradigm Paradox Too

Lover Pretend and Paradigm Paradox are expected to come out this fall, and both are now up on the Aksys store in special and standard versions, just like Winter’s Wish. You can purchase the soundtracks for each game separately for $9.99 each, and if you already preordered the standard editions, you’ll receive an email in the coming days guiding you to add the CDs to your purchase if you so choose.

In related news, our own Niki Fakhoori recently reviewed the Aksys-published Variable Barricade, and her verdict was that it’s an absolute delight! Be sure to check back in with RPGFan for more otome coverage!
